On December 23, 2021, The “Youth Forum on the Revision of Chinese and Japanese Company Law” hosted by the Civil, Commercial Economic Law School (CUPL) and the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Okayama University, Japan, was successfully held online. The teachers and students of both sides conducted enthusiastic and in-depth discussions on important issues on the Revision of Chinese and Japanese Company Law.

The forum was co-chaired by Professor Jingshan Chen, China University of Political Science and Law, and Professor Zhang Hong from the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Okayama University. Professor Yu Fei, Dean of the Civil, Commercial Economic Law School (CUPL), and Professor Yuma Kawahara, Dean of the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Okayama University, attended the meeting and respectively delivered speech at the opening ceremony.
Focusing on the theme of “Revision of Chinese and Japanese Company Law”, the forum has four modules, namely “Recent Developments in the Amendment of Chinese and Japanese Company Law”, “Authorized Capital System from the Perspective of Comparative Law”, and “Comparative Methods in Litigation and Practice” and “Solvency System from the Perspective of Comparative Law”. The teachers and students expressed their opinions on the corresponding topics from different angles in each module.

At present, both China and Japan are in the process of amending the company law, and many systems are in urgent need of improvement. The forum focused on the key and difficult issues, through exchanges and discussions, provided new reference and inspiration for the amendment of the company laws of the two countries from the perspective of comparative law.
