On November 13-14, 2021, the international conference on Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property, hosted by Intellectual Property Law Institute of the Civil, Commercial and Economic Law School, China University of Political Science and Law(CUPL) and co-organized by Baidu Company was successfully held online. More than 50 experts and scholars from Nagoya University, Tokyo University, Hokkaido University, Texas A&M University, Murdoch University, Australia, Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Macau University of Science and Technology, China University of Political Science and Law, Tsinghua University, Tongji University, Xiamen University, Sun Yat-sen University, Central University of Finance and Economics, and Baidu Company attended the online conference. The conference was broadcast live online, and watched by about a thousand people, which also gained support from the New Discipline Project of Intellectual Property Law, CUPL.

The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Professor Feng Xiaoqing, director of Intellectual Property Law Institute of the Civil, Commercial and Economic Law School. Professor Yu Fei, dean of the Civil, Commercial and Economic Law School, delivered a speech. On behalf of the organizer, he extended a warm welcome to the guests and online audiences, and pointed out that in the context of current globalization and technological revolution, it is of positive significance to explore the relationship between big data, artificial intelligence and intellectual property, as well as the law’s response to technology. Professor Yu was also looking forward to the conference to build an exchange platform for scholars from all countries and regions.

The two-day conference is divided into two sessions: Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property and Big Data and Intellectual Property. Experts and scholars passionately had a talk on the related intellectual property issues involved in data and artificial intelligence.

The closing ceremony was presided over by Professor Li Yang from Intellectual Property Law Institute of the Civil, Commercial and Economic Law School. He thanked all the speakers and interviewers for the wonderful speeches they made, and expected that scholars at home and abroad would further deepen exchanges and cooperation in the future.
